The province has proclaimed February 13 to March 1 as Canada Games Week.
The games begin on Friday in Prince George, and will see 2,400 athletes from across Canada compete in 19 sports over 18 days.
Team BC’s contingent consists of 350 athletes, coaches and support staff.
The Canada Winter Games is the largest sporting event in northern BC.
It’s expected to draw 15,000 sports fans.
The games also mark a milestone for First Nation’s involvement.
The Lheidli T’enneh First Nation is the first ever Official Host First Nation of any Canada Games.
