The province has introduced a new interactive tool allowing people to help wildlife biologists monitor moose populations.
The B.C. Moose Tracker app — available through iTunes — lets users upload information on the number, sex and location of moose they encounter in the wild directly to an online database.
The government says the data will help the province monitor moose populations by alerting staff to any emerging issues.
It estimates there are 120,000 to 200,000 moose in British Columbia.
