The provincial government is going to ban the trophy hunting of grizzly bears next month and they are looking for public input into the plan.
The ban would take effect November 30th and includes a prohibition on hunting grizzlies in the Great Bear Rainforest.
The public has until November second to let the government know what they think on the issue. There are two primary documents that outline the changes to the regulations that will be needed to put the ban in place.
Victoria is looking for input on: managing the hunting areas that overlap the rain forest, the possession of trophy grizzly bear parts like the head and hide, trafficking in bear parts and new reporting guidelines for taxidermists.
