2018 has proven to be an outstanding year for the art world in BC thanks to new support from the provincial government and BC Arts Council.
17 million dollars in community and cultural grants has been divied out across more than 700 grants by the arts council so far this year.
The grant money comes in part from a 15 million dollar investment in to arts and culture by the province, pushing the Arts Council’s budget to 29 million for the year.
BC has more working artists per capita than any other province who add roughly 7 billion dollars to the provincial GDP each year.
