The Provincial State of Emergency that had been in place since August 15th has officially come to an end.
With wildfires winding down and cooler, more temperate, weather on the horizon, the provincial government has decided to call of the declaration after one extension.
It was the second year in a row that the province was forced to issue a state of emergency following the two most devastating wildfire seasons in the province’s history.
Last year’s state of emergency lasted for 10 weeks and was extended 4 times.
