Public commenting period open on Mt. Polley Mine report

The public now has a chance to comment on the Mount Polley environmental impact report.

The 30-day comment period is a requirement of the pollution abatement order against Mount Polley Mining Corporation following a catastrophic breach of the mine’s tailings dam.

In a statement, the Ministry of Environment says the public comment period will “inform the company’s long-term environmental remediation and restoration plans.”

The deadline for comments is July 21st.

Please submit comments to: MtPolleyEnvironmental.Enquiries@gov.bc.ca with the subject line “Comments on second version of the PEEIAR”.
