A wildfire burning 20 km east of Takla Lake has resulted in an evacuation order and a road closure.
The BC Wildfire Service says the Purvis Lake fire showed aggressive behaviour Sunday and grew to 1450 hectares.
Officials have closed the Driftwood Forest Service Road (FSR) south of Nation Lakes Park to the intersection with the Leo Creek FSR.
The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako has issued an evacuation order for the area.
The RDBN currently has evacuation orders and alerts in place for the Island Lake and Nadina Lake wildfires.
Wildfire officials say smoke from fires in the region continues to blanket the area and will likely persist for some time.
