The City of Quesnel has announced a panel that will determine the economic impact of wildfires on the North Cariboo and chart a course for recovery.
The four-member Wildfire Economic Recovery Team met Tuesday to review their roles and begin planning their work in the months ahead.
The team will be based in Quesnel, but officials say they will be travelling to outlying communities as they tackle the impacts of the North Cariboo sub-region.
The BC government has provided recovery funding to each sub-region and the Cariboo Regional District with each local government determining how best to use the money.
An office will be set up in the new Spirit Centre at 246 St. Laurent Street in the coming weeks, providing a base for the team, and a location for people to access information about recovery efforts.
The team includes:
-Erin Robinson, Recovery Manager
-Tracy Bond, Urban Recovery Coordinator
-Garry Horley, Rural Recovery Coordinator
-Charlene Lawrence, Recovery Team Support.
