A recent spike in housing demands has Quesnel City Council embarking on a comprehensive reassessment of the community’s housing needs.
In 2019 alone, the City hopes to wrap up two large-scale housing projects and launch two more.
Two multi-unit downtown housing projects have entered the final stage of construction, while the Elliot Street project and a recently announced BC Housing project for North Quesnel are nearing their start dates.
Council has acknowledged that the city is experiencing a significant need for all levels of housing from social and affordable to high-end single family residential options.
This mini-boom has set the City on a path to creating a new, detailed strategic plan for 2019 which addresses all of the community’s housing needs.
