The Quesnel River Bridge will be going through substantial repairs following a hit and run.
RCMP say it happened on Friday when officers found 50 feet of railing and cement separating the sidewalk and southbound traffic was damaged with no vehicle in sight.
Sergeant Chris Riddle says the bridge is structurally sound, but the repairs are expected to cost a quite a bit of money.
He says tire marks and damage left behind leave investigators to believe it was a semi that struck the bridge.
Sergeant Riddle is hoping the driver will come forward.
Riddle says it’s lucky no pedestrians or other vehicles were involved in the crash.
They’re urging anyone with information to contact Quesnel RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
