A spike in reported thefts from vehicles in Quesnel has RCMP warning residents to reduce their risks of being targeted.
Typical items stolen include: purses, wallets, cash, ID, sunglasses and handheld electronics.
In order to reduce your risk of being the victim of theft, police are advising residents not to leave these items unattended in their vehicles, or to simply leave them at home.
While reports have been received from all over town, the downtown core seems to be the focus of the majority of incidents.
If you see suspicious activity near a vehicle, RCMP are asking you contact your local detachment immediately.
