On July 17th RCMP officers were working in an evacuated zone near Highway 97 in Williams Lake, they had to live up to their mountie name.
Two horses in an enclosure near the checkpoint jumped their fence and were running freely on the roadway, a third horse who was bigger than the other two attempted the scale the fence and got trapped on the wire.
The officers after some time were able to catch all three horses and walked 1 kilometer back to their enclosure.
Cst. Brind’Amour from the Nelson RCMP said “The horses were getting very upset, as they had become separated from their herd, and were very difficult to catch and control. We managed to calm one horse down with an apple from our lunch”
