Two violent incidents in Prince George this past weekend have caught the attention of police.
Last Sunday at about 6:40 p.m, police got a report of shots fired in a trailer park in the 2100 block of Norwood Street. Police arrived to find an unattended vehicle that appeared it had been fired at by a shotgun. Police don’t think anyone was in the vehicle at the time and they didn’t get any reports of an injury.
Before police could get to the scene a white Ford pick up with a black canopy was seen fleeing the area. Police say the vehicle was stolen earlier the same day from a Prince George residence on Hammond Avenue.
Three hours later an officer was in the same trailer park when he says two males walk up to a residence, place bandannas over their faces and knock on the door. When the resident opened the door he was hit with bear spray. The two males took off on bicycles. One was nabbed by police while the second guy got away.
The victim of the bear spray was treated by paramedics and released.
Lazare Sampson, a 23 year old Prince George resident, was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, wearing a disguise while committing an indictable offense, resisting arrest and failing to comply with a probation order.
Despite both incidents taking place in close proximity to one another, police have no evidence they were connected. Both are believed to have been targeted attacks.
