RCMP are asking for help after reports of a distress call from the Nass River.
On June 22nd highway flaggers working in the area heard what a man repeatedly calling “Hey Hey” between 9 am and 10 am.
Using VHF radio, the highway flaggers shared the information with the people of Gingolx Village.
Citizens from local villages brought their boats to the area to help RCMP, Search and Rescue and the West Coast Marine Section.
CPL. Madonna Saunderson says the RCMP are currently trying to identify the missing man as soon as possible.
Several hours were spent trying to locate the man however they couldn’t find a trace of him.
Aerial patrols will be conducted and the search will resume today.
