A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a Mackenzie man.
In August of 2014, the family of Maurice Wallace contacted the Mackenzie RCMP to report him missing after routine communication with him stopped.
A short time after he was reported missing, his body was discovered in an outbuilding on the property where he lived.
It was soon determined that foul play was involved, and the investigative team ruled the missing person report was now being investigated as a homicide.
On October 14, 2015, charges of second degree murder and indignity to human remains were approved by Provincial Crown Counsel against an 18 year old man whose identity cannot be released as he was a young person at the time of the offence.
