The RCMP has released updated findings on missing and murdered Aboriginal women.
The force says the information its gathered shows that Aboriginal women continue to be over represented in Canada’s missing and murdered women.
RCMP Superintendent Tyler Bates says that there is an unmistakable connection between homicide and family violence.
The release follows an RCMP report released in May 2014 which found 1,181 police-recorded incidents of aboriginal women who disappeared or were killed between 1980 and 2012.
The RCMP says 11 additional aboriginal women have gone missing since the 2014 report.
