RCMP say northern BC hotbed of violent “anti-petroleum” protesters

An RCMP report says northern BC is a major area of concern for violent, anti-petroleum protests.

The report clumps violent and peaceful protesters together, and calls it an “anti-Canadian petroleum movement.”

Grand Chief Stewart Phillip of the Union of BC Indian Chiefs says the allegations are irresponsible.

Grand Chief Phillip says he will continue to speak out against projects that he opposes.

The RCMP report is titled Criminal Threats to the Canadian Petroleum Industry.
