The Williams Lake RCMP’s newly formed Crime Reduction Unit was put into action over the weekend.
The unit, along with General Duty officers, searched a home in the city Sunday night and turned up an array of drugs and weapons.
Officers say they seized substances suspected to be crystal meth, cocaine, heroin, shatter and marijuana. Also found at the home were two firearms; a restricted handgun and a modified rifle.
Police arrested two local men who were expected to make a court appearance Monday, May 29th.
Williams Lake RCMP Detachment Commander Inspector Jeff Pelley says he won’t tolerate drug dealing and prohibited weapons.
Pelley says the Crime Reduction Unit will continue to focus on those in the drug trade.
