Terrace RCMP are reminding drivers to turn off their electronic devices or put them in the glove box if they can’t ignore them.
The reminder comes as police bump up enforcement in March as part of Distracted Driving Awareness Month.
Constable Crystal Evelyn says distracted driving is the second leading cause of fatal crashes in BC.
As part of its campaign, Terrace RCMP will be handing out “Think of Me” cards to drivers at roadside checkstops.
The cards feature pictures drawn by local children meant to remind drivers about the people they put at risk when their eyes are not on the road and both hands are not on the wheel.
