RDBN expands evacuation order area for Tweedsmuir Complex Fires

The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako has expanded an evacuation order and revised an evacuation alert for the Tweedsmuir Complex Fires.

The Evacuation Order now covers an area south of Ootsa Lake to the Southern boundary of the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako. East of Whitesail Lake including the Nechako Reservoir, known as Jim Smith Point.

Because of limited availability of local accommodations, those who require lodging should travel to
Prince George. Please register at the ESS reception centre at the back entrance of the CN Centre in Prince George located at 100-2187 Ospika Blvd. between 8 am – 6 pm.

After hours, please refer to the sign on the door of the reception centre for available accommodations and further instruction.

Those with accommodations with friends and family should register at the ESS reception centre at the Burns Lake College of New Caledonia located at 545 Hwy 16 W, 9 am– 4 pm, although the hours will be extended to 10 pm August 14th.

The Evacuation Alert is in effect for the area west of Jim Smith Point and Cheslaslie Main FSR to Tweedsmuir Park.
