The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako has issued an evacuation order related to a wildfire North of Tezzeron Lake.
The order is in effect for the area south of Inzana Lake to the middle of Tezzeron Lake, the Leo Creek Forest Service Road
east to the Germansen Landing North Road. The order does not include the Leo Creek Forest Road or the Germansen Landing North Road.
The closest Emergency Support Services reception centre is located at the CN Centre in Prince George, but evacuees may have to travel to
Quesnel for lodging.
The BC Wildfire Service says the fire, estimated at over 8200 hectares, is backing slowly toward the Leo Creek Forest Service Road, but it remains open at this stage.
Officials say protection of the Leo Creek connector is a priority.
Strategies have been made to contain the fire as well as a number of triggers, that if breached, will result in further community consultation.
