Record highs reached Sunday, heat warnings still in effect

Sunday was another scorcher with a number of record temperatures set across BC.

Burns Lake reached a high of 33.7, breaking its 2004 record of 32.9 degrees.

Mackenzie got to 33.3 degrees Celcius, outstripping a 1971 record. Prince George also reached 33.3, breaking a high set in 1994.

Williams Lake got to 33.2 degrees, getting past its previous high of 31.7 set in 1971.

Environment Canada says more record highs are expected Monday as the hot weather continues.

Heat warnings are in effect for Terrace, Kitimat, Quesnel, Williams Lake, and inland sections of the Central Coast.
