The REM Lee Theatre is moving forward with planned improvements with the City of Terrace council’s support.
The Theatre is currently undergoing some technical enhancements, and are looking to introduce comfort improvements as well.
A 40 thousand dollar project to add a new digital sound console, upgradesound equipment, and improve lighting has already begun.
Yesterday, the Theatre Alive Society stood before council to ask for a resolution of support in their application for 150 thousand from the Canada Cultural Heritage Fund to further improve seats and carpeting in the theatre.
Council gave their support, acknowledging the theatre’s importance to the community.
The Society also plans to apply for a 200 thousand dollar grant from the BC Gaming Capital Matching Grant in August.
