Terrace City Council has passed along a proposal from REM Lee Threatre to administration to explore reinstating funding they received before.
Council stopped providing money to the school board to help pay for the costs of the threatre over ten years ago.
Funding ranged from $12,000 to $17,000.
Mayor Carol Leclerc believes supporting the theatre is the right thing to do.
Leclerc says they also passed resolutions to support REM Lee Theatre to approach the Northern Development Initiative Trust for other projects.
The second proposal of $5,858 will go towards hiring a consultant to help prioritize upgrades the threatre.
The third proposal will see $30,000 go towards repairing the chairs and the carpet.
