21 recommendations have been made as the result of a report in to the meat producing and processing industries in BC.
The report focused on how to develop industry growth and a strong, skilled, workforce.
Between May 16th and June 15th, the committee heard over 50 presentations across 5 communities during its consultation process.
The recommendations support better inspection and enforcement, improved licensing procedures, changes to food safety education, more humane treatment of animals, better marketing and promotion, and better access to farmland.
