New restrictions have been put in place to help Wildfire crews control a fire just south of Fort Nelson.
The Tommy Lakes fire now covers over 20 thousand hectares 29 kilometers north east of Highway 97.
In order to protect the public, the government has introduced a restriction that prevents residents from remaining in the area between the Holman Creek crossing to the north and Beatton River to the East.
The restriction allows only travelling through the area, with no prolonged stops, unless written consent is issued.
Restrictions will remain in place until July 31st or until an order to lift it is issued.
