Workers at Rio Tinto will not be going on strike just yet.
UNIFOR Local 2301 members voted 99.5 per cent in favour of going on strike if a tentative agreement was not on the table by July 23rd.
Rio Tinto has reported it has reached an in principle Collective Labour Agreement for its BC Works aluminium operations in Kitimat.
According to a UNIFOR Bulletin, the agreement was received moments before their midnight deadline and they are recommending the acceptance of the agreement.
Union members will vote Thursday and Friday.
