The BC government has announced road a bridge work for Highway 97 between Prince George and Mackenzie.
The province is spending $3.5 million to resurface the stretch of road between Whiskers Point and Mackenzie junction.
Work to replace the 61-year-old Salmon River Bridge will also go to tender.
The $24 million project will see a wider bridge built to handle wider, heavier loads, including those used in the resource sector.
Work on the bridge is expected to start this fall while the Highway 97 resurfacing is slated to be complete in September.
