A road dust advisory has been issued for Burns Lake.
The Ministry of Environment along with Northern Health issued the advisory due to high concentrations of coarse particulate matter.
Officials say dust levels tend to be highest around busy roads and industrial operations.
It’s suggested that people with chronic underlying medical conditions should postpone strenuous exercise near busy streets until the advisory is lifted.
Exposure is particularly a concern for infants, the elderly and those who have diabetes, and lung or heart disease.
It’s unclear how long the advisory will be in place.
