Roberts re-elected to 5th term as Kitsumkalum Chief

The votes have been counted and Don Roberts has been easily re-elected as Chief of the Kitsumkalum First Nation.

Roberts received 139 votes while Gordon Roberts got 27 votes, and Jacqueline June Roberts garnered 7.

This will be Roberts’ fifth two-year term as Chief Councilor of the Terrace-area First Nation.

There were 15 candidates running for one of the 7 seats on Kitsumkalum Council.

Cindy Bohn achieved the highest number of votes at 117. Also elected to council were Lisa Wesley (102 votes), Wayne Bolton (98 votes), Kathy Wesley (86 votes), Sue Spalding (86 votes), Troy Sam (77 votes), and Jim Webb (65 votes).

Webb is the only new council member, edging out incumbent Tracy Sam by 2 votes.  The rest were re-elected to their positions.
