Wet’suwet’en artist and carver Ron Austin
Ron is a member of the Wet’suwet’en First Nation. He grew up on the trap line with his parents, grandparents and brother Frank. This taught him respect for the land and all the animals on it. He has carved many totem poles with some in Japan, Italy and United States. I caught up to him in Hagwilget while he and his team were carving a totem pole for his community.
