Skeena Liberal MLA Ellis Ross grilled the BC Government over benefit agreements signed by First Nations related to the Trans Mountain expansion in Question Period Wednesday.
Ross says, in his experience with the Haisla Nation, project benefit agreements were the one shining light that offered a solution to First Nations poverty and dependence.
Indigenous relations minister Scott Fraser avoided the question, saying the risk of a spill is too great and would jeopardize thousands of jobs connected to the coast.
Earlier in Question Period, Prince George-Valemount MLA Shirley Bond accused the NDP of bungling the Kinder Morgan file while environment minister George Heyman accused the BC Liberals of inciting hysteria over the possibility of rising fuel prices.
