13 recommendations have been made in a report submitted by the Salmon Advisory Council today.
Both immediate and mid-term actions were highlighted in the report, which aims to guide the development of a Made-in-BC Wild Salmon Strategy.
Each of the recommendations relate in some way to the three main goals of the Council: to increase the abundance of wild salmon, protect and enhance economic, social and cultural benefits to communities, and to develop mechanisms to engage with citizens and governments.
The recommendations are based on feedback gathered from public consultations held between fall of 2018 and January of 2019.
