The province announced $10-million in a one-time funding injection for B.C. search and rescue groups earlier this year.
While that money is welcomed, Dave Jephson of Terrace Search and Rescue says what groups really need is a stable source of income.
He says the province was very clear to the SAR organizations not to use this money for on-going costs such as insurance.
Jephson says his group has been lucky by being able to tap into other sources of funding, as well as having great community support.
He says the Terrace SAR will be using part of their funds to help members purchase equipment.
