Search suspended after Williams Lake man falls from bridge into the Fraser River

The search for Williams Lake man swept away by the Fraser River has been suspended.

RCMP say 24-year-old Jordan Siegmueller accidentally fell off the Rudy Johnson Bridge into the river shortly after midnight Wednesday.

Friends who were with him at the time of the fall say he was carried downstream by the water and was in distress.

An extensive shoreline and water search by RCMP and Central Cariboo Search and Rescue was carried out until Wednesday night and wrapped up Thursday at midday.
Searchers failed to turn up any sign of Siegmueller.

He’s described as a Caucasian male, 5’10”, 141 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing tan pants, a grey shirt and had a red back pack with him.

Williams Lake RCMP are asking communities downstream to be aware of the incident and report anything possibly linked to it to police.
