Emergency officials plan to resume the search for a person that may have gone in to a Prince George area river early Thursday morning.
RCMP and rescue personnel were called out to the John Hart Bridge after someone was seen jumping into the Nechako River at about 12:30 am.
Police and fire crews didn’t see any trace of the person in the river, but found a men’s winter jacket and toque under the bridge where the person was seen entering the river.
Police say darkness and ice conditions on the Nechako prevented the use of boats in the search and crews suspended their efforts at about 1:45 Thursday morning.
A search from the ground and air is expected to resume sometime Thursday, weather permitting.
Prince George RCMP are asking anyone with information about the incident or who the person might be to contact police.
