Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Cariboo region from Quesnel to Williams Lake.
The forecast says conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, damaging hail and heavy rain.
Environment Canada reminds people that very large hail can damage property, break windows, dent vehicles and cause serious injury.
Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles.
Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.
Stay indoors when a thunderstorm strikes and there isn’t a place outside that is safe during a thunderstorm.
Stay away from all windows, skylights and doors, and that lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.
Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
