Only the Fort Nelson and Peace River regions of the province continue to swelter under heat warnings, with Environment Canada calling for temperatures up to 35 degrees in parts of northeastern B.C., but another weather threat is looming elsewhere.
Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Bulkley Valley, Lakes, Cariboo, Chilcotin, and Prince George.
Strong wind gusts, heavy rain and lightning are all in the forecast — raising concerns about wildfires.
A number of temperature records were set Tuesday, including Williams Lake, Quesnel, Burns Lake, and Stewart which hit a high of 33.4 degrees Celsius.
