Shirley Morven is a Nisga’a Elder and from the village of Gitlaxt’aamiks.
She is a lifelong educator and advocate for First Nations students. She went to University of British Columbia at a time when “there were more totem poles than First Nation students.”
Shirley went on to do her graduate degree at the University of Washington in USA. She continues to help young teachers understand the different ways of learning First Nation students have.
