Damage is expected to be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars after a fire east of Terrace early Tuesday morning.
The Thornhill Volunteer Fire Department was called out to the Gossen Creek subdivision around 3 a.m.
Fire Chief Rick Boehm says the homeowners awoke to the sound of a small explosion coming from a large shop on the property and saw smoke and fire coming from the roof.
Eleven firefighters from the Thornhill department fought the flames for about two hours.
Boehm says the homeowner did the right thing by not entering the building and kept all the doors closed to limit the spread of the fire.
There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is not known.
