The Shovel Lake wildfire remained very active yesterday as the 68 thousand hectare blaze had smoke filling the skies in Prince George, Vanderhoof, and Burns Lake.
While perimeter growth was limited yesterday, the fire continued to pose massive threats to those in the area.
52 pieces of heavy equipment have been set up in an effort to control the fire’s expansion and crews have been attempting to control the path of the fire to keep it away from pipelines in the area.
The fire is currently forcing closures on the Trout Lake FSR, and Sutherland Road from the 15 km mark.
The fire is the largest currently burning in the province.
