The large sinkhole is on Forrest Avenue about 4.5 km down the road.

It has been barricaded and marked, but it still can be hard to see for drivers on the road.

The District of Kitimat informed the Ministry of Forests, Lakes, Natural Resources Operations about the sinkhole.

The ministry has told CFNR that Skeena Sawmills is responsible for maintaining the road.

There appears to be a creek running underneath where the sinkhole appeared, which may be a factor to the sinkhole developing.
