The Prince George RCMP is reporting the arrest of six people for drug related offences after search warrants were executed at two rental properties in the same neighbourhood.
On Thursday April 14th, 2016, the Prince George RCMP’s Street Crew Section executed two Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrants at residences located on Upland Street in Prince George.
Upon entering the first residence on the 1800 block of Upland Street, officers found and arrested a 24 year old man and a 43 year old man. A search of the house uncovered methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin, along with drug trafficking paraphernalia.
On entry to the second residence, located on the 2100 block of the same street, officers located and arrested two 29 year old men, an 18 year old man, and a 31 year old woman. As a result of this search, a quantity of heroin was located along with ammunition and various firearm parts.
All six people have been released pending further investigation and possible charges.
The Prince George RCMP have executed approximately six drug related search warrants in this immediate area since the beginning of the year. In each case the accused people occupying the residences were tenants with little regard for the property or the neighbourhood.
In each case the landlords were either absent, inattentive or delinquent in monitoring and maintaining their property.
Police say criminal tenants thrive when there’s no landlord oversight, creating concern for other residents of the neighbourhood.
