Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP Nathan Cullen says there’s isn’t all that much in this year’s $300-billion Federal budget.
Cullen says the really ignores issues First Nation communities want addressed such as child health care, with a case of how much money the government owes in court.
Cullen says the infrastructure support for smaller communities is really lacking and didn’t give much hope for Telkwa who’s looking for more help to address their water tower.
He also noted money to battle the opioid crisis doesn’t really start flowing until election year.
In a quick break down of some of the spending, $3.4-billion of new spending is going towards Indigenous communities for infrastructure, health, and education, while $11.2 billion of already budgeted money will given over 11 years to a national housing strategy.
