It seems snowmobilers still aren’t getting the message when it comes to staying out of endangered caribou habitat.

The BC Government has just granted $2 million for the The Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation to conduct caribou habitat restoration.
The province says while there were 40,000 caribou in BC during the early 1900s, that number has shrunk to 19,000 in recent years.
