Prince Rupert council has received a report mapping out a way forward to make the city a better place to do business.
The three goals of the Small Business Development Action Plan are easing the tax burden, reducing restrictions, and encouraging growth.
Councillor Blair Mirau of the city’s Small Business Advisory Committee says downtown revitalization is one of the ways to foster growth.
Mirau says another way to spur growth is retaining wealth by encouraging local shopping.
The action plan is the culmination of a year’s research.
City council voted to receive the report and review it at a future workshop before May.
