Community members near Smithers gathered along Highway 16 today in honour of murdered and missing Indigenous women.
The rally corresponded with the return of human remains found near the community last week.
Dressed in red, residents gathered at 9:00 this morning after a call sent out by the family of Jessica Patrick, who was reported missing on September 3rd.
RCMP have not yet confirmed the identity of the remains.
Since 1960, there are more than 300 cases of Indigenous women mudered or missing along the Highway.
