Smithers RCMP arrest teen shooting people with pellet gun

Last Tuesday Smithers RCMP received a report from the principal of Smithers Secondary School that three students were shot by a pellet gun while walking in the Kentucky Fried Chicken parking lot on Highway 16.

The youths were shot by a male from a vehicle.

In a second incident, three other teenagers were shot at again by the same people near the A&W.

A third pellet gun shooting occurred later that day at the rec centre parking lot, with the same suspects.

Police later arrested a 16 year old male high school student who used an airsoft pellet gun to shoot his victims.

The suspect was initially charged with Assault with a Weapon, but victims and family have decided to resolve the issue through the Restorative Justice process involving a healing circle and “Peace Tea.”
