At least one new face will join Smithers Town Council following the October 20th elections as incumbent councillor Shelley Browne has withdrawn from the race.
Browne, who has resided in Smithers for 25 years, served 4 years as town councillor and a further 6 as school trustee.
A new career opportunity in Victoria will draw Browne away from the town and the race.
With Browne leaving the race, there are now 10 names vying for 6 spots on town council.
Elections will be held on October 20th.
