Smoke is filling the air near the controversial Site C Dam in Fort St John.
High winds reportedly caused a small brush fire to spark up and send the large amount of smoke towards the dam.
As of last night, the fire covered 4 hectares and posed no immediate threat to the city, though the smoke could filter in and cause breathability issues.
It was noted that the Site C construction teams would be conducting burns this summer, though nothing was planned for yesterday.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation and wildfire teams are on site to control the fire.
